Sustainability for Seychelles

About Us

We are Sustainability for Seychelles (S4S) - a non-governmental organisation (NGO)

Registered in December 2007, passionately working to promote sustainable, “green” living in Seychelles. We carry out our work in close collaboration with everyone, be it citizens, Government Ministries and Agencies, other NGOs and the private sector.

S4S was formed by a group of dedicated people who were committed to the promotion of sustainable living, and who believe that citizens have a vital role to play in helping Seychelles shift towards this ideal. S4S is led by an  Executive Committee – all volunteers – and the committee is charged with the responsibility of guiding our strategic development and helping the organisation evolve as an innovative and effective non-profit organisation.

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Developing educational and other training programmes for more sustainable lifestyles;
  • Inspiring people to adopt sustainable lifestyles via success stories and demonstrations of best practices;
  • Promoting renewable energy technologies and the efficient use of energy;
  • Promoting the use of appropriate technology to mitigate greenhouse gases; and
  • Engaging in research that promotes social & ecological sustainability in Seychelles & other island states.
