Energy Project
S4S has implemented different initiatives to promote renewable energy and energy conservation.
Renewable Energy & Energy Conservation
In Seychelles, renewable energy is crucial to reduce its heavy reliance on imported fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions. With high energy costs and climate vulnerabilities, green energy solutions like solar and wind will build resilience and support sustainability.
S4S has implemented different initiatives to promote renewable energy and energy conservation.
Promoting Renewable Energy at La Digue School

In February 2015, S4S in collaboration with Energy Solutions Seychelles, and funded by the GEF, implemented an initiative aimed at teaching students and teachers about green energy technologies, especially solar energy given that the school had recently had solar panels installed. Teachers brainstormed on the integration of renewable energy in the teaching curriculum.
Renewable Energy Education
S4S signed a contract with the UNDP/PCU office to develop a national campaign on renewable energy education. The campaign targeted decision-makers, the private sector, and residents. Baseline research was conducted to gather insights on current knowledge and practices followed by the development of the campaign. The project engaged various stakeholders including renewable energy equipment suppliers.

Energy Efficiency Workshop
As part of the UNDP Photovoltaic rebate Scheme, an Energy Efficiency workshop as held in July 2014 in collaboration with the Seychelles Energy Commission, UNDP, and GEF. All relevant companies and stakeholders were invited to discuss the education requirements for energy efficiency and PV systems.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program (SEEREP)
S4S was involved in the Seychelles Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program (SEEREP). In April of 2014, S4S participated in the SEEREP Fair to promote the new incentive scheme for energy efficient appliances and PV systems.
